The drama department is housed in the EM Forster building which was built in 2000. It boasts a fully equipped 368 seat proscenium arch theatre and a modern adaptable studio space which can seat up to 90.

There is a teaching room on the top floor, with computer and projection facilities and two foyers that double up as teaching and rehearsal spaces. Both performance spaces are equipped with professional dressing rooms.

The theatre is managed by a Theatre  Manager, a Theatre Technician, a Drama Technician, Front of House Manager, a Box Office Administrator and a Wardrobe Assistant. The theatre is used extensively by the drama department and the music department with which we have strong links.

It also operates as a receiving house for professional touring productions and public speakers and is a theatre for the local Tonbridge community. In the last year our arts programme has included productions by Propeller, Theatre Ad-Infinitum and Blind Summit. We have hosted talks by Steven Berkoff, Jonathan Miller and Germaine Greer.

For further information about hiring the EM Forster Theatre please contact the Theatre Manager Kat Portman or phone 01732 304154. For Technical enquiries please email the  Theatre Technician  Kevin Dodds or phone 01732 304154.
